“ You order at the counter from selections on chalkboards, and then find a seat and wait. This is not fast food, but the wait time is not too long, and the food is worth the short wait. The restaurant is clean and the decor is cute. I had the gumbo, which had a rich, dark roux and plenty of chicken, tender shrimp, and sausage. I like potato salad with gumbo- it helps cool it down- and theirs was very, very good. My husband got the chicken fried chicken and was very pleased with it, but the star of his plate was the pinto beans. The chef (because he's that much better than a cook) is not afraid of seasoning, but does a balanced job-not too little, not too much. This is elevated home cooking/ soul food. The portions are generous, a cornbread muffin comes with your entree, but most importantly, the food is delicious. My only regret is that we didn't have room for dessert. 10/10 would recommend. ”

“ THE BEST RESTAURANT I've ever been to in my life! Sure I've been to many fancy restaurants internationally including Michelin places. But this place makes REAL, FLAVORFUL food. You want flavor? You want the South in your month? Come here. Order everything. I've been around 10 times so far and have not repeated my order. Yet everything I've eaten is 10 out of 10. And I don't mean just the entrees or meats, every sides, corn bread, dessert, is AMAZING! Come early otherwise they run out of stuff. The egg rolls will absolutely blow your mind and it's such a creative yet down to earth creation. You won't regret it, I will no longer gatekeep this secret. You gotta come and eat real food here. It will change your life. ”

“ A group of us had lunch here after Church. It's a small seating area so get there early. The catfish here is excellent. I think it's the best tasting catfish in town. I will definitely go back to try some of the other items on their menu. ”

“ 20 minutes before closing, Thursday. He said the dining room was closed, but I could sit and dine from a Togo box. Pork tips over rice: outstanding! Possibly the best I've ever had. The greens had a (Caribbean) spice that made them wonderful. The beans had a different spice and they were wonderful. Highly recommend. ”

“ First time eating here and very impressed with the food! I got the Cuban sandwich and I've had quite a few in my day and this one is up on the list! My wife got the seafood platter. I was able to try it and it was very good, some of the best catfish I've had! Only reason I went 4 stars instead of 5 was because they don't (or didn't have) someone stationed at the counter where you order, so we had to wait a little and then when we needed refills on our drinks, I had to stand at the front for 5 min or so until I was able to flag one of the cooks for a refill. Regardless, decently worth the wait, I will for sure come back! ”

The blackened catfish (on a bed of spinach) was so very tasty. The sides and watermelon lemonade were flavorful!! And the peanut butter cookie OMG!! It was huge and wish I had another one. I'm already planning my next visit. ”
